Alpacas at Crossroads Ranch

Alpacas at Crossroads Ranch welcomes you to everything alpaca!

"We are involved in a large fiber selection project and are currently NOT booking tours. We do have alpacas available for purchase. Please call to schedule a viewing appointment. We will update this area when we are able to resume booking tours."

We are a small livestock and fiber production farm, offering educational visits to those interested in learning more about the herd of 85 Huacaya alpacas, grazing at pasture in Paso Robles picturesque oak tree and vineyard covered hills.

If you’re looking for adventure, “Farm Stay for a Day” is just the ticket! Come spend the day with us helping take care of the herd, while learning about how their fleeces are shorn once a year to create beautiful, warm, luxuriously soft textiles from their fiber. This includes feeding the alpacas and pen maintenance, besides any herd maintenance activity planned for that day. $25 per person. Minimum of two adults. Maximum six…which can include youngsters over 8.

Two days, plus RV parking, leaving time to explore our area and other local AgAdventures is additional $25 per RV…dry dock only.

Include a fiber activity (felting soap, bead making, bird’s nest grape vine balls, Kool Aide dyeing, carding & hackling) or take alpacas on halter for a hike with us on our 16 acres for an additional $10.

Those who can only schedule a short morning or afternoon visit can discover more about our alpaca venture for $6 per person…come learn about alpacas via questions and answers, while spending time with the herd and feeding them treats. Excellent destination for groups and we provide tour bus access & parking.

All guests are welcome to bring a sack lunch to enjoy in our visitor’s garden, with picnic tables under graceful pepper trees and a soothing water fountain next to our alpaca pens, with a beautiful view of the Paso countryside.

We offer a range of fiber arts classes and workshops. To date, we’ve covered dyeing fiber with natural dyes and knit machine basics. In the future we’re exploring felting and other fiber arts. Get on our email list for notification of our future class schedule or check back to AgAdventures often.

Wednesdays, the Fiber Barn is open for learning natural fiber hand processing skills and fleece evaluation for buying and breeding alpacas. $5 for equipment use, free to those who purchase fiber…advance RSVP required.

Our gift shop, Alpacazonia, is open by advance appointment. Give us at least a day’s notice, since we’re a working ranch…we stock roving, batts, felt, and yarn from our herd’s fiber as well as alpaca fashions from USA fiber artists and manufacturers.

We breed for soft, fine luxurious huacaya alpaca fiber in a full range of natural colors.

The home of Award Winning Herdsires: Black, White, Brown and Grey. Ask us about "drive to" breeding program.

We can assist you in starting your own herd…everything alpaca! "Expect the best of Us."
